You are invited to Celebrate #blackExcellence!

Juneteenth marks a date of major significance in American history and represents the ways in which freedom for black people have been delayed. Join us as we celebrate this date when all Americans were liberated and created equal with artistry from around the nation.

Tune in to spoken word by Marth Fourth, vocals by Shykenya Jackson, Afro-Caribbean music by Carlos Caminos & Julian Mendonca, Rap by And Now Miguel, and a cultural dance performance by Kankoura West African Dance Company.

Learn more about #blackexcellence and our history from Dr. Robin Hayes, filmmaker and scholar on media, race, and equality.

Your attendance to this event will assist in supporting The Black Swan Academy, a non-profit organization in the District of Columbia that concentrates its efforts on empowering Black youth through Civic Leadership and Engagement.

Please see Juneteenth Event Lineup for more information.
