U.S. Department of Defense, Joint Task Force National Capital Region/Medical

After the Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) recommendations in May 2005, the DeWitt Army Community Hospital was slated to be replaced by Fort Belvoir Community Hospital and the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Fort Belvoir would see its first patients in August 2011, with four ambulatory clinical centers, inpatient wards, and operating rooms. The hospital serves active duty personnel, veterans, and their families.
